Is Strathmore 400-104 suitable for watercolor painting?

While the Strathmore 400-104 is primarily designed for drawing, it can handle light watercolor washes. However, due to its smooth texture, it is not optimized for heavy washes or techniques that require significant water retention. For those who enjoy mixed media, this paper can be a great choice for incorporating watercolor accents into pencil or ink drawings, allowing for a seamless blend of styles.

What mediums work best with Strathmore 400-104 paper?

Strathmore 400-104 is primarily suited for dry mediums such as graphite, charcoal, colored pencils, and ink. The smooth surface enhances the precision of fine lines and is ideal for detailed illustrations, sketches, or technical drawings. Can I use markers on Strathmore 400-104 paper?

Yes, you can use markers on Strathmore 400-104 paper, but it's essential to consider the type of marker. Artists appreciate the versatility of this paper for combining different mediums, as it permits a dynamic mix of techniques without compromising artwork quality.

What is the best way to store my drawings on Strathmore 400-104 paper?

To preserve your artwork created on Strathmore 400-104 paper, it's best to store it flat or in a portfolio to prevent bending and creasing.
