Can the lego base plates be removed or are they affixed?
Answer: Yes… they can be removed. When you first receive the item, the different parts will come disconnected… you will get the case, some small adhesive pieces, and the plates separately. Takes at least 5 minutes to take plastic off the adhesives to connect the plates and shelf and is a bit tedious, but it looks really nice afterwards. -

Answer: Yes. The display is approximately 3 studs deep with spacing between the door and the first stud -

Answer: 32 stud -

How many figs does the large case hold?
Answer: It really depends on the size of fig with accessories. I personally can fit 5 comfortably or even 6 if I smoosh them together. But with Falcon Captain America for example, the wings take up a TON of room. So it depends.
